Detroit’s own Francis Ford Coppola in Hearts of Darkness (the documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now). This little coda to a bizarrely frightening documentary about art and the madness of art continues to inspire me as much today as it did when I first saw it at age 18.

wildhotels:

made a playlist today of 30+ songs by women who played synths and/or made weird music that sounds sort of electronic (as is the case with Anna Lockwood’s Glass World album from 1970, LP art below)

image

proto techno / early synth pioneers / library / musique concrete / ambient / disco

all made between 1938-1990  (i believe)

gonna keep updating this list and adding more songs i find, but in the meantime don’t let any assholes spout some male-focused history of electronic music bullshit. it’s not gonna fly
